How do I switch from Android to iPhone or vice versa?

June 1, 2020

Purchases made on an iPhone are linked to the Apple ID on your phone and purchases made on an Android are linked to the Google Account on your phone. The iHunter app itself cannot be transferred between Apple or Google accounts or across platforms and would need to be repurchased if you switch accounts or switch from one platform to another.

In-app purchases such as landowner maps or Public Land Subscriptions can be shared across platforms using the iHunter login. To share your purchases across platforms, just ensure that you’re using the same iHunter login on all platforms. You can login by tapping on the bottom right button in the app and then tapping “Log In” at the top of the menu.

How do I send error messages from iHunter web?

August 13, 2019

If you are having issues with iHunter Web and want to send detailed error information to iHunter to help resolve the issues, you can do so by sending the console output from your browser.

The easiest way to do this is:

• Right click anywhere on iHunter Web (right click on the map for example), and select “Inspect” or “Inspect Element” in the popup.

• This will bring up the developer console. There is a tab or menu item that should say “Console”. Click on this and send screen captures of any errors that you can see. The error messages are usually in red and some of these messages are normal, however this will likely help us figure out the issue.

NOTE: Do not share your console content with anyone else, as it can contain sensitive information from your iHunter content.

Do purchases made in iHunter Web transfer to my mobile app?

August 13, 2019

Yes, purchases made in iHunter Web will be usable in iHunter for Android and iOS. Just make sure that you are using the same in-app login for iHunter web and the mobile apps.

My waypoints and in-app purchases didn't transfer to iHunter Web. What do I do?

August 13, 2019

If you are not seeing your waypoints and/or in-app purchases from iHunter iOS or iHunter Android apps in iHunter Web, please try these steps to get it working:

• Make sure that your mobile app is using the latest version as the in-app purchase sharing is new as of July 2019.

• Check that you are logged in on your mobile app.

• Confirm that you are using the same login (Google, Facebook, or Email login) on the iHunter Web as you used in the mobile app.

If this still isn’t working, please email info@ihunterapp.com and we will do our best to sort it out.

There are waypoints on the map that I didn't add. How did they get there?

March 18, 2013

iHunter partners with companies that are of great assistance to hunters to make it easy to find services they need (taxidermy, butchering, shooting ranges, etc). If you know a company that would be interested in partnering with us, or have feedback on existing partners, email us at info@ihunterapp.com.

How do I transfer all of my existing waypoints to a new device?

March 18, 2013

On your previous phone, you can use the “Export Waypoints” option on the Settings page to package up your waypoints into a .ihunter file, and email them to yourself or friends. The recipient can click on the file to import the waypoints onto the new device.

Alternatively, you can use the new log in feature on your old and new devices. The old device will back up all the waypoints to our servers, and the new device will download them. Any devices connected to the same account will keep their waypoints in sync.

Are the regulations updated every year?

March 18, 2013

Yes. As soon as we get updated regulations from the province or state, we will process them and push them to your phone. Regulations cover the fall of the current year, and in most cases, the spring of the following year.

I answered "No" when asked whether to allow iHunter access to my location. How do I change my answer to allow location services?

March 18, 2013

You can open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap on Privacy, and then on Location Services. Make sure Location Services is turned on, and turned on for iHunter in the list of applications.
